Summertime Blues in Pacifica? Rafe Mair + Jeremy Arney call for CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE against Christy Clark’s and Harper’s governments

FORMER ENVIRONMENT MINISTER RAFE MAIR:

REMEMBER JESUS, THOREAU, GANDHI, MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

Ain’t  no cure for the summertime blues…‘ except for some focused peaceful non-violent civil disobedience.

Summertime in this beautiful and deceptively placid Pacifican province brings thoughts of a real productive harvest of new policies to be extracted out of recalcitrant Globalist governments at the federal and provincial level after a number of concerted organized non-violent mass strikes or targeted civil disobedience instant camps set up in urban and forest hotspots.

But don’t take my word for it.  These are not just the idle thoughts of an aging treehugger.

None other than former Social Credit ENVIRONMENT Minister Rafe Mair (TheCanadian.org), writing in the latest number of The Agora, has an article entitled ‘The Need for Civil Disobedience Throughout History… and in BC Today.’

That well-reasoned plea for civil disobedience protest is printed right next to my own article entitled ‘BC Warparties LIne up at Military Industrial Complex Trough,’ on page 6 of the June/July 2011 paper edition of the new Agora publication from Vancouver (http://www.theagoranational.ca).

Mr. Mair’s concerns are for conservation issues, such as the questionable piecemeal privatization of our beautiful rivers for power, and the very probable and almost inevitable ruination of our pristine coasts by oil spills, unnecessary problems aggravated by misguided policies of the Globalist ‘right-wing’ corporatist BC Liberals.

‘Before this year is out I think we’ll have protests where decent, contributing citizens, wanting no more than to pass the province they love to future generations without the scars of private power development or spilled oil,’ writes Rafe Mair.

Similarly, Jeremy Arney, a retired Saanich resident and former federal candidate for the anti-globalist Canada Action Party, writes of the need for civil disobedience against  Herr von Harper’s tyranny.

‘I have been saying for months that the only choice we will soon have is mass civil disobedience, because our needs are not important to those who are employed by us to work for us and who think they rule the country,’ writes Jeremy Arney at his blog in a posting entitled ‘9/11 to civil disobedience.

As a committed activist for life, I welcome all such talk of non-violent civil disobedience and peaceful protest in the Christian martyr – Gandhian tradition.

My heroes are Jesus Christ, the  holy martyrs, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr… etc.

I was arrested at Clayoquot, trying to preserve ancient forests created by the Creator for his own mysterious reasons, and I still believe that it is a crime against the Creator that those fantastic ancient forests are still being attacked by barbaric Death Culture forces.

All those ancient forests should still be saved, just for their own sakes, whether or not one adheres to so-called ‘global warming’ or ‘climate change’ theory or not (and I do not).

Second growth forests are obviously not as important as old growth in terms of biodiversity or aesthetics, and should therefor be selectively logged in the Wildwood Eco Forestry selection silviculture system, developed by Merv Wilkinson at Wildwood, near Cedar, on Vancouver Island.

We need to start a radical new anti-globalist conservationist independent political party that will take back our publicly-owned rivers, stop building the oil pipeline to Kitimat, ban all tanker traffic through BC waters, stop mining and shipping of uranium, stop all clearcut logging, develop eco forestry in second growth forests, ban raw log exports, ban nuclear ship visits to all BC ports, stop all trading from BC ports with Communist China, close open net Atlantic farmed salmon operations within one year, rescind the carbon and HST taxes.
