September 13, 2001: ‘Everything pointed to OBL, training camps, possibly some help from the Taliban… US clearly believed there was real evidence but we agreed it would not be possible to publish much of it.’ The Blair Years, Excerpts from the Alastair Campbell Diaries, pages 564 – 566

[CCC Editor’s note: Abbreviations used in Alastair Campbell’s diary:

TB = Tony Blair, English New Labour Prime Minister

GWB = George Walker Bush, North American Republican President

OBL = Osama bin Laden, renegade CIA agent, official scapegoat for 9-11 attacks

DM = David Manning, Blair’s newly appointed senior foreign policy advisor]

[Page 564]

TB’s worry was that GWB would turn inwards.

He had sensed a bit of resistance to the G8 idea, which he felt was a big mistake.

He felt now was the time to bind in as much international support as possible.

He felt a big military hit combined with a big international effort of support and a long-term agenda for terrorism was the way to go.

There was a whole load more intelligence all pointing towards OBL…

[Page 565]

TB was very much in charge.

He said it was an act carried out in America which should be seen as an attack on the democratic world.

Of the thousands killed, he feared several hundred would be British.

He said all the evidence pointed to OBL…

[Page 566]

David Manning [Blair’s newly appointed senior foreign policy adviser], who had been in the States at the time of the attacks, was now back.

Quite a baptism.

He gave a very good assessment of where the various bits of the American set-up were.

He felt that Bush was was being fairly restrained but at some point that would stop…

Everything pointed to OBL, training camps, possibly some help from the Taliban.

The US clearly believed there was real evidence but we agreed it would not be possible to publish much of it.

We left for the Commons, got the tone of the statement right and went over the difficult questions.

TB did fine.

Our backbenchers were fine, and the Tories and Lib Dems basically onside for the approach he set out.

TB was sure that ultimatum followed by attack if not response was the right way…

TB was worried by the reluctance to have a G8, felt it showed they were looking inwards when they should be looking outwards.

They should be using now to bind in Russia and France.

He also felt we had to do more to bind in Pakistan, who were going to be absolutely vital in all this.

The call took place at 1.45.

TB was quite troubled afterwards, said we had to think of a way of getting the US for a face-to-face meeting.

He said he needed to see him in a room, and look in his eyes, not do all this on phone calls with 15 people listening in.

He asked DM to make sure he stayed in permanent contact with Condi [Rice] and make sure they did nothing too rash…

TB went through his assessment of the US plan – ultimatum to yield up OBL and then let outside body move in to get rid of the camps.

Alternatively, hit OBL straight away, possibly going for the Taliban.

And then the next step is to look to other countries, including Iraq, and other countries not even linked to OBL…

  1. Bill Woollam says:

Thanks for that overview by Alastair Campbell, who, once doing the investigation oneself, is found to be nothing but a spin doctor. He is onne who publishes ”doublespeak” in order to mislead and misinform the populace….in order to maintain specific “myths” necessary to justify the bogus ‘war of terror’.

I compiled a number of blogs….took me half a year…to expose the fabrication and lies which Washington, mainstream press, and televised newscasts have force-fed the world over the last 10 years since that false flag event of 9/11.
For those who like to investigate, rather than simply accept the lie after lie, I compiled a number of blogs to reveal the sinister activity of our Western Government leaders. I titled the page of compilations:
“Fabricating the Enemy, 9/11, and Rewritten History”
    http://www.blissful-wisdom.com/fabricating-the-enemy-911-and-rewritten-history.html

Also one blog titled: “My Personal Message to Readers” alludes to this very topic of British/American ”doublethink” and ”doublespeak”.

I am grateful if any of my material inspires others to begin their own form of desk-top activism.

Thanks so much for your painstaking research, Bill.

I really wanted to read the article entitled ‘American Military and Government Officers who question 9/11,’ which is linked on your blissful-lwisdom.com website here:
    http://www.blissful-wisdom.com/american-military-and-government-officials-who-question-911.html

but as you may see, there is a message there saying ‘site not published,’ and suggesting that if you are the owner of the site, that you ‘republish your site…’ Hope you can do that for us.

Once one confronts the enormity of the sad facts of the biggest lie of our day (9/11), it forces one to question all earthly authority.

I see Alastair Campbell’s diary as giving us a glimpse into the actual weird pseudo-rationalist methodology used by these conspirators to allow themselves to be used as mouthpieces for whoever is manipulating them.

In terms of the power of evil to distort, mould, and refashion a version of so-called ‘reality’ that is completely divorced from what we now know to be true, it is instructive to look back on these formerly hidden planning sessions, to learn how such spin doctors actually reinforce each others’ machiavellian machinations.

But I also find it useful to contemplate the damage done to souls like Mr. Campbell, as a careful reading of his diary reveals that he clearly was not happy in his job, which he eventually left, at the prompting of his wife, who could see that her harried husband was not only making his own life miserable, he was also apparently ruining hers also.
