    Well, I have to admit
that they are now talking about
#8. immigration and refugee issues now,
    and so that is good.

  2. goyodelarosa says:

Smilin’ Jack wants to bring his wife Olivia’s grandparents over from the old country…

… ‘loving family reunification and community building’ is threatened by the Harper Government’s hardening of rules under Immigration Minister Jason Kenney, says Smilin’ Jack.

Iggy says Kenney has pitted one ‘ethnic community against another.’

Harper suggests that Gilles Duceppe, the francophone and very awkwardly accented bilingual leader of the separatist Bloc Quebecois, isn’t open to Canadian multiculturalism, subtly suggesting he is a racist.

The Bloc wants total Quebecois control over immigration into Quebec.

Duceppe suggests that if Harper gets a majority, he will use Tory private members’ bills to ban abortion on demand and to bring back capital punishment.

Jack berated both the Tories and the Liberals on their record of doing nothing about so-called ‘climate change.’

Harper said that the Tories supported ‘binding universal’ climate change measures at Copenhagen, as opposed to meaningless targets that are never met, as with the Liberal record.

As I feared, not a single word, as far as I can tell, not a word was said about the Libyan war, nor about the nuclear issues.

I heard most of the 2 hour broadcast, and don’t think that I missed much, maybe just a minute or two.

Abortion, euthanasia, nuclear-free ports, clearcut logging ban, etc… issues that are almost never debated… alas…

  4. goyodelarosa says:

Jack Layton, Leader of the orange-green New Democratic Party, berated both the blue Conservative’s Prime Minister Steven Harper and Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff (‘Red Iggy’) about Afghanistan, saying they just extended the tour of Canadian Forces involvement another 3 years, under the guise of ‘humanitarian supervision’ (co-ed school building, family planning, defending women’s ‘reproductive rights’, etc.).’

Thank God, Jack Layton said we should bring the Canadian Forces troops home from Afghanistan now, but Smilin’ Jack Layton said nothing about our new imperialist ‘humanitarian interventionist’ globalist war on Libya.

Last week, he did express concerns about what he called ‘mission creep in Libya.’

There was also discussion about the fighter jets.

NDP Leader Layton says the NDP doesn’t want fighter jets at all, but says that Iggy is not really opposed to the jets, but just wants tendering, and that could even raise costs.

Harper says that no money for the jets will come from health care or education.

Harper says that the Liberals will have to raise taxes to pay for all their social programme spending, but that higher taxes will hurt the economy, so that the Tories are not bringing in any new taxes.

Harper says that the costs of the fighter jets are kept low by buying htem en masse with other countries, and the purchase date would not happen for five years, in any event, but in the meantime the planning had to be done now, and payments made over twenty or thirty years.

He remained silent, as did all of them, on the Canadian Forces’ latest air manoeuvres from Sicily and our disgraceful, futile, costly and unjust Harper-dictated Globalist imperialistic war on Libya or La Libye.
