VOTE TO BORROW HUGE AMOUNT TO REPLACE

JOHNSON STREET BRIDGE

Many of our worst fears were realized today when the Victoria City Council decided to tear down and replace the familiar funky Johnson Street bascule lift bridge that some affectionately call ‘Big Blue’ or the ‘Blue Bridge.’

    JohnsonStreetBridge.Org reports that Councillor Geoff Young was the only Victoria City Councillor that voted against the huge borrowing to replace the Johnson Street Bridge.

    Here the monopoly daily says that Councillor Young held out for a third less expensive option to repair the existing bridge.

    That was the common sense thing to do.
