LOUISE WARNER ON BUS FARES: ‘$1.10 difference represents a 79% increase’

TRANSIT HIKE TOO EXTREME FOR SENIORS, STUDENTS

The proposed jump in single-fare transit tickets for seniors and youth, from $1.40 to $2.50, is too large.

The $1.10 difference represents a 79 per cent increase.

Many seniors and youths will find that takes too much of a bite out of their available income.

Not everybody in Victoria can survive such an increase.

Please transit officials, come down to Earth, where the little people walk, and show what you can do for them.
