VICTORIA MAYOR SAYS PROVINCIAL SOCIAL HOUSING IN VANCOUVER HELPS VICTORIA: Claims $11,000,000 already created ‘170 new + renovated units’

SOCIALIST MAYOR LIVING IN DREAM WORLD OF UNBELIEVABLE SPIN

Victoria Mayor Dean Fortin says that provincial social housing spending plans announced yesterday that go to Vancouver, Nanaimo and many other provincial centres (but not Victoria ) actually benefit Victoria because they will discourage the homeless from migrating over here after landlords jack up rents for the Olympics.

This is nothing more than desperate, amazingly unbelievable  spin from a man who has somehow already alienated the BC Liberals so much that he has not managed to get them to spend any new money at all in Victoria on such badly needed social housing.

It’s clear that the BC Liberals hold the current Victoria City Council in some contempt.  Mayor Dean Fortin is going to have to do a lot better than this if he is still hoping to get the province to help out with social housing funds to match those promised by the federal government (if any) in their s0-called ‘stimulus plan.’
