Hello, Lynn:
Thanks for your letter to us explaining your reasons for voting the way you did on the Johnson Street Bridge issue.
Members of the Concerned Citizens’ Coalition and many others in the Capital Regional District appreciate your having taken the time to do this, whether they support us or the Council.
I have taken the liberty of reposting your letter in its entirety to the CCC BLOG here:
http://gregoryhartnell.wordpress.com/2009/07/08/lynn-hunter-victoria-city-councillor-to-gregory-hartnell-on-johnson-street-bridge-demolition-i-believe-it-is-a-decision-in-the-public-interest-and-was-made-without- consideration-of-partisan politics/
We repost all such correspondence from elected representatives in the same manner as we have done with your letter and those of Mr. Geoff Young and Mr. John Luton.
This will enable Councillors to engage in debate with CCC members or other readers of our CCC BLOG in the comments section following the posting.
We hope that all Councillors who have taken the time to write to us will engage with the public in this debate, as there has been a noticeable lack of such public consultation and debate to date.
We are waiting with keen anticipation to hear from other members of the Council on this matter, particularly Pamela Madoff who has been well-respected in the architectural preservationist community.*
Very sincerely yours
Gregory Hartnell, President
Concerned Citizens’ Coalition
*Councillor Pamela Madoff has written to CCC President Gregory Hartnell since this email was sent to Councillor Lynn Hunter. Councillor Madoff’s recent email letter about the Johnson Street Bridge, written like those of Councillors Geoff Young, Lynn Hunter and John Luton to Gregory Hartnell, is found in the CCC BLOGROLL to the right.
